Summer's Fan Club

Summer started his career as a race horse. Later he was purchased with a high price tag in Florida by a Cumming family as a Grand Prix jumper for their daughter. After competing on Summer for about 5 years he began bucking when being ridden. This worsened over time until the owner was injured. Summer was then headed to the Hwy 20 horse auction sale where the rescue purchased him. He defintely was a handful. Shortly thereafter he was diagnosed with soreness as well as a "hunters bump" (a term that describes a rear hump on the back from excess jumping causing pain and discomfort). After a few adjustments, the bump disappeared. Summer also has skin cancer on his tail but it is slow growing. He is now ridden at the rescue by beginners and is a very pleasant horse.
