- Hi my name is Charla, Samantha(my daughter) and I are Summers fan club president. We started at the horse rescue a year ago so Samantha could get her horse fix since she had ask for a horse since she was. I still remember someone saying at the orientation " And you think this is gonna fix that?" Well it didn't, I fell in love with the horses and it only add to her love of them. We get out to the rescue as much as possible.
Summer's Fan Club
Summer started his career as a race horse. Later he was purchased with a high price tag in Florida by a Cumming family as a Grand Prix jumper for their daughter. After competing on Summer for about 5 years he began bucking when being ridden. This worsened over time until the owner was injured. Summer was then headed to the Hwy 20 horse auction sale where the rescue purchased him. He defintely was a handful. Shortly thereafter he was diagnosed with soreness as well as a "hunters bump" (a term that describes a rear hump on the back from excess jumping causing pain and discomfort). After a few adjustments, the bump disappeared. Summer also has skin cancer on his tail but it is slow growing. He is now ridden at the rescue by beginners and is a very pleasant horse. Please join Summer's Fan club and become a supporter of the HRRRF. Summer needs a sponsor and/or to be adopted. If Summer is adopted in the future, his fan club may dissolve.
